Phenotypic Evolution:
I am interested in understanding the large scale patterns and processes underlying phenotypic evolution across organismal groups.
Speciation:
I also study the tempo and mode of speciation. In particular I am interested in how factors combine to bring about speciation and how speciation itself might be an active force in promoting molecular evolution.
Phylogenetics and the Comparative Method:
All my research involves phylogenetic trees. As such, I am interested in understanding, assessing and developing phylogenetic and comparative methods.
